Day Care Centre (K.D.H.F.)

At the Shelter's Workshops, beneficiaries are immersed in a variety of activities and educational programmes that are an integral part of their daily lives. In specially designed productive and educational environments, they engage in gardening, waxing, decoupage, handmade soap and cosmetics making, among other activities. They also receive support services and participate in external educational and recreational activities, which focus on promoting personal and social development, as well as improving each individual's functionality. Through individualized programs of socialization, special education, occupational therapy and physical education, each person develops his/her skills and personality, enhancing his/her autonomy and achieving his/her personal goals and interests.

Assisted Living Houses (ASH)

Today the vision of the founders has become a reality. The beneficiaries have their own homes for permanent living - the Assisted Living Houses. The E.G.N.Y.A.'s SHSs operate in two modern building infrastructures, with a capacity of 9 persons each. The main purpose of the Sheltered Living Houses is to ensure the well-being of the beneficiaries through supported living and the development of their individual and social skills, in order to enhance their autonomy and their active inclusion in society, living in a protected and welcoming environment, where the further development of their personality is achieved.

Gardening

In a welcoming environment, participants are engaged in planting, tending and decorating gardens and plants, developing their love for nature and enhancing their agricultural knowledge.

Friday Soap

Through creative processes, participants learn to produce handmade soap, exploring different recipes and techniques, while enhancing their aesthetic perception.

Cosmetics manufacturing

Through creative processes and environmentally friendly materials, participants learn to produce natural cosmetics, exploring nature's potential for body and skin care.

Friday Candle

Through creative processes, participants learn to create handmade candles, exploring various techniques and designs, adding an individual touch to their art.

Decoupage

Participants explore the art of decoupage, creating unique works of art using paper and other materials, while enhancing their creativity and developing new skills.

EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES

E.G.N.Y.A. offers a variety of outdoor activities to enhance social cohesion and physical activity for people.

Swimming

Through swimming, participants enjoy an activity that promotes muscle relaxation, improved breathing and a sense of freedom in the water.

Bowling

Bowling provides an enjoyable recreational and social bonding experience while enhancing concentration and accuracy skills.

Recreational and educational excursions

The excursions offer participants the opportunity to discover new places, enjoy the natural environment and create lasting memories with their friends and companions.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMES

E.G.N.Y.A. offers enriching programmes and activities that enhance the skills and social cohesion of individuals.

Activities of Daily Life

This programme focuses on training people with intellectual disabilities in basic daily living and self-care skills, enhancing their autonomy and self-confidence.

Training in Computer Use

This programme offers training to people with intellectual disabilities on the use of computers and electronic devices, enabling them to acquire practical skills in the digital world.

Special Interest Groups

These groups offer various activities, such as self-advocacy, expression and recreational groups, drama groups, baking groups and others, promoting inclusion and self-confidence.

Physical Education

Through a fully equipped gym and outdoor tennis and basketball courts, E.G.N.Y.A. offers physical education programs that enhance the health and well-being of the participants.

Recreation and Socialisation Programmes

These programmes include activities such as swimming, therapeutic riding, bowling, sports activities, excursions and other activities that promote recreation and social integration.

DORMS

With 45+ years of experience, the H.G.N.Y.A. Boarding School continues to provide lifelong support and care to adults with intellectual disabilities. It operates in two modern living facilities where human care meets the need for quality living. Each room has two to three beds, creating a space of comfort and personal integrity for each resident. The Boarding House offers supported living and care at all hours of the day.

The aim of the Boarding School is to create an environment that promotes the development of personal and social skills. Within this context, residents develop their autonomy and are encouraged to actively participate in activities that enhance their confidence and independence. Through a protected and welcoming environment, residents find a place that reflects the values and needs of their community, providing the family warmth and security needed for their well-being.

1) The Action concerns the continuation of the support of the operation of the structures by the KDEFs/other Centres, which were funded during the 2014-2020 programming period under the "ATTIKI" 2014-202 programme, until 31/12/2025.

By including the Facility in the FP 2021-2027, the EYNYA ensures the following:

A) The provision of day care and accommodation services to persons with disabilities, as follows:

(i) needs assessment, development and implementation of an individualised education, care and rehabilitation plan, including early intervention services,

(ii) training in social and life skills, with particular reference to applications of

modern technology, supported decision-making and sex education and health programmes, and preparation for independent or assisted living,

(iii) development and promotion of professional/employment skills, including professional

guidance and pre-vocational training,

(iv) promotion in employment and labour integration, using appropriate methods and tools,

(v) supportive and therapeutic interventions at individual and group level,

vi) preparing meals and catering for the beneficiaries,

(vii) recreational, cultural and sporting activities,

(viii) training, support and counselling programmes for families and/or carers,

(ix) community awareness and education programmes on issues relating to disability, disability

combating prejudices and adopting modern concepts of it,

x) training and education programmes for staff and volunteers,

(xi) recording and continuous evaluation of activities,

xii) transportation of beneficiaries to and from the Facility

The above services are provided for at least 4 and no more than 8 hours per beneficiary per day, during working days, including the transport of the beneficiaries to and from the Facility.

B) The implementation of networking and cooperation actions with social institutions/providers of social services such as Community Centres, and other structures providing similar services and the local community in general (e.g. municipalities, sports, cultural or other types of associations, educational community, etc.), aiming at the interconnection of the structure with the local community, the integration of beneficiaries in it and consequently the strengthening of social cohesion at local level.
