Erasmus+ Horizon Professional Development: the E.G.N.Y.Y.A. in Job Shadowing in Slovenia & Lithuania
The Hellenic National Health Service, in the framework of the Erasmus+ Accredited Project 2024-1-EL01-KA121-ADU-000236119, implemented in May 2025 two Job-Shadowing mobilities in Slovenia and Lithuania, with the participation of four of its employees.
Objective: to exchange know-how, enhance professional skills and promote the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

Focus areas:
Day care: educational techniques, workshops, supportive approaches.
Assisted Living: home management, self-care, development of autonomy skills.
Supported Employment & Social Inclusion: job coaching, progress monitoring, empowerment and active participation.
Active Ageing & Wellbeing: social care, promoting healthy ageing and quality of life.
What the participants learned:
- Good practices in social care, independent living and inclusion.
- Person-centred models of care and self-representation.
- Non-formal and experiential learning approaches.
- Strategies for communication, cooperation and active participation.
What they gained:
Professionally: They enriched skills, knowledge and innovative ideas for social inclusion, active ageing and the well-being of people with disabilities.
Social: They created networks of cooperation with EU institutions and enhanced intercultural understanding.
Individual: They strengthened their belief in inclusion, autonomy, self-advocacy and equal rights for all.
The Erasmus+ and the State Scholarships Foundation/ State Scholarships Foundation enable professionals to "spread their wings", draw inspiration from other European practices and come back with new ideas that change lives.
Erasmus+ and IKY show that international cooperation in the education of adults with disabilities is not a luxury, but an investment in a more inclusive society.
